Principal's Message

Dear Hayden Families,
As we enter the Spring trimester, I want to take a moment to reconnect with our Hayden community and reflect on the wonderful progress our students have made this year. The first part of the school year has been filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences for our students. I am grateful for the continued partnership with our families as we move into the final stretch of the school year together.
This year continues to be an exciting time for Hayden as we build upon our work as an AVID school and a Digital Media & Communications specialty school. AVID strategies continue to be embedded throughout classrooms, helping students develop the skills needed for college and career readiness. Through these programs, we emphasize communication, collaboration, organization, and critical thinking, skills that help prepare our students for academic success.
Throughout the year, our teachers have been working collaboratively in Professional Learning Communities to analyze student data, plan instruction, and ensure that every student is supported in their learning. Additionally, our Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) helps ensure that Hayden remains a safe and welcoming place where kindness, respect, and responsibility are reinforced every day.
Strong communication between school and home remains a key component of student success. I will continue sending weekly “Hayden Highlights” emails through ParentSquare to keep families informed about school events, opportunities, and important updates. As a reminder, families can also find important information on our Instagram and school website.
Our office staff remains dedicated to supporting our families and providing assistance whenever questions arise. We are fortunate to have two wonderful community liaisons who support our families. They can help connect families with school information, translation services, and community resources such as food banks or household support if needed.
Family involvement continues to be an important part of our school community. There are many opportunities for parents and guardians to provide input and stay engaged through groups such as PTA, School Site Council (SSC), English Learner Advisory Council (ELAC), Hayden Highlight meetings with the Principal, and OC GRIP meetings. We also look forward to welcoming families on campus for upcoming events such as Open House, student award ceremonies, and Lunch on the Lawn.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we will finish the school year strong and continue creating meaningful learning experiences for all of our Hayden students.
